DESCRIPTION OF FACILITIES AT CAMPING SITE:
The camp site is called Ouhout Camp as it is located amongst Ouhout trees. It has a Lapa with built in braais and tap water for communal use.
There is no electricity, but very tasty fountain water in the taps.
The ablution block was built with local rock and has flush toilets, wash basins, showers and a bath on the ladies side.
Hot water is supplied by making fire in the "donkey".
Wood and coal is supplied for the donkey and if the camp is busy the fire is kept burning by one of our employees,
otherwise you have to make your own fire if you want hot water!.
DESCRIPTION OF 4X4 ROUTES: A number of 4x4 routes are available - some quite easy and some requiring considerable driver skills, low range and a strong vehicle. The most difficult climb is up to the top of Ventersberg. A map is provided showing all the routes and their ratings. Please note that certain routes should not be attempted after rain as the clay soil becomes very slippery making the road either un-passable or extremely dangerous. The routes pass over sandstone, through grasslands and ravines and up to view points with the most spectacular 360 degree views.
FOR THOSE NEEDING MORE …
There is a dam for fishing, a rock pool to swim in, ideal routes for mountain bikes or 4-wheelers (just bring your own) and hiking.
